002

[18:07] Shadowcaller: "And this is a masterwork, with the parts I had, I actually made it fly. Do you know *anything* about constructing a ship out of scraps?"
[18:07] Murska: 'I know that it's stupid, for one.'
[18:08] Happy [8]: (Link: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/zombie_how)http://theoatmeal.com/comics/zombie_how
[18:08] Shadowcaller: "Stupid? It's better then buying a new ship, I can beat that this ship works way better then any new ones."
[18:08] Happy [8]: "We're getting off track here," Lucia says.
[18:08] Shadowcaller: "Just beacuse it dosen't look very good…"
[18:09] Shadowcaller: "…yeah, everything I managed to save from the ship is in the backroom. Just get whatever you think it's yours."
[18:10] Murska: He goes look for his stuff.
[18:10] Happy [8]: As does Lucia.
[18:10] Happy [8]: "So… what was your job on the ship?" she asks quietly.
[18:11] Murska: Somewhat sceptical that someone going to a random junk pile and grabbing a few sticks of metal can construct a ship that works better than the ones the empires spend billions of credits on.
[18:11] Murska: 'Computer technician.'
[18:11] Happy [8]: "You must have kept to your station most of the time."
[18:12] Murska: 'Yup. They picked me up at the last stop.'
[18:13] Shadowcaller: Dan can find some of his chiås on a bed table near the first bed among various other chips that he dosen't recognize.
[18:13] Murska: Not all though?
[18:13] Shadowcaller: All of them and more. Some of them just aren't his.
[18:14] Murska: He grabs all of his and starts examining the others.
[18:14] Shadowcaller: (I'm not sure what to tell about them?)
[18:15] Murska: He takes three of the ones not his aswell.
[18:16] Murska: Then he grabs all his other miscelannellous things.
[18:16] Happy [8]: Lucia's possessions were mostly clothes and makeup, one electric and one acoustic violin, and some other instruments.
[18:17] Shadowcaller: WHich is in a bag nearby the first bed. There are more small bags as well, one of them is Lucias. The other bags are mostly empty, just a few cloth items.
[18:17] Murska: Is his money there?
[18:18] Shadowcaller: It's not.
[18:19] Murska: Once he's ready he opens his handheld again and inserts a small disk he took from his stuff. Then he runs a program which tries to detect the internal computer communication lines of the ship they're in.
[18:19] Shadowcaller: (Communication lines?)
[18:20] Shadowcaller: Lucia's bag still contains all her stuff, it haven't been open yet.
[18:20] Murska: (the routes along which the computer cores in different parts of the ship send information)
[18:22] Shadowcaller: He detects them, they seem to work well enough, but it's a quite complicated mess. The engine and various other parts of the ship had had a lot of add-ons and "boosts" which makes it hard to see what each part dose.
[18:24] Murska: (Sweet Grass Voice from the Digger comic, eh?)
[18:24] Shadowcaller: The communication lines have apperently made to work with this type of system, to easily be able to get new parts into it's system.
[18:24] Shadowcaller: (Yeah.)
[18:24] Murska: He checks if the ship has made a link to the Eve-class.
[18:25] Shadowcaller: A link how?
[18:26] Murska: A link? As in, the computers of the two ships can talk to each other so you can attempt to access the other ship's computers from here.
[18:27] Shadowcaller: (Yeah but… eh) There is a brief link to the computer on the docking bay.
[18:28] Murska: He pings it with a probe to see if the Eve-class still has working protection systems.
[18:29] Shadowcaller: Most off the protection systems have been turned offline but they are still working however.
[18:30] Murska: He shrugs and turns to look at Lucia. 'You find everything?'
[18:33] Shadowcaller: (Happy is taking over as a GM:P)
[18:33] Murska: k
[18:35] Happy [8]: She is examining her violin. "Yeah. It all seems…." her voice trails off.
[18:36] Murska: 'She's taken my money though. Otherwise it looks like all.'
[18:37] Happy [8]: On the back of her violin is scrawled a message. "See you soon. -Isaac" With a little smiley face drawn under it.
[18:37] Shadowcaller: You can hear Kara's footsteps.
[18:37] Shadowcaller: She soon enters the backroom "Finding everything?"
[18:37] Murska: 'Except the money, sure.'
[18:38] Shadowcaller: "Oh yeah… I can return that."
[18:38] Happy [8]: Dan remembers that Isaac was the first officer on the ship, a man in his 40s.
[18:38] Murska: He's taken his bag and put all his various disks, chips and a few electrical things there.
[18:38] Murska: Did Dan see that note?
[18:39] Happy [8]: Yeah
[18:39] Murska: He puts a hand on her shoulder. 'You okay?'
[18:40] Happy [8]: "I don't understand."
[18:41] Shadowcaller: Kara sort of shrinks back a bit, and turns back to the entery hall "Uh, I guess I should leave you two alone. I'm sure you have much to talk about."
[18:42] Happy [8]: "Are you sure there was no one else? No signs of where they might have gone?"
[18:43] Shadowcaller: kara stops and turns back to you "No, the whole ship looks clean enough. No signs that anyone left in a hurry, this can't have been a very hasty evacuation."
[18:44] Murska: 'I don't have much to talk about yet. I need to go back to the ship and see what happened to it.'
[18:45] Happy [8]: "What do we do next? How far are we from civilization?"
[18:45] Murska: 'Well depending on what you consider civilization…' Dan rolls his eyes.
[18:45] Shadowcaller: "Quite far… but not far enough to make me wonder why not anyone have found this ship before I did…"
[18:46] Murska: 'I suppose there'd be quite a few Looters with drift-sensing equipment around here.' He glances at Kara.
[18:48] Shadowcaller: "It was pure chance okay? I took a wrong turn since the blasted guide system is gliching. Showed me the same direction for hours it did…"
[18:48] Murska: 'With it being so close to the border and near one of the Scraps.' (Scrap = independent planet)
[18:49] Shadowcaller: *sigh* "If you are going to suggestiv insulting you can just keep yourself silent."
[18:50] Murska: He shrugs. 'Whatever.' And heads out past her.
[18:52] Shadowcaller: Kara follows him to the entery hall. What direction is he going? (it's either out or into the cookpit.)
[18:52] Murska: Back into the Eve-class
[18:53] Murska: 'I'll go see what happened, you should have my and the crew's money for me once I'm back.'
[18:54] Shadowcaller: "The crews money? There weren't any left except yours, you can go look yourself if you like, I'll be in the ship…" Kara heads into the cookpit.
[18:55] Murska: He heads out and into a nearby computer terminal, inserting a CD and a chip.
[18:56] Shadowcaller: (Happy GM's now so >.>)
[18:56] Murska: Meanwhile your characters could interact
[18:59] Happy [8]: ugh… except I need to finish my Joker thing. It's due in a few hours
[18:59] Happy [8]: can we pause here for a bit?

[20:48] Shadowcaller: Aegnor säger:
He heads out and into a nearby computer terminal, inserting a CD and a chip.
[20:50] Murska: Meanwhile with you two…
[20:50] Shadowcaller: Kara in the the cookpit, trying to fix the guide system Anubis have.
[20:50] Happy [8]: "So… why is it so… dirty?"
[20:52] Shadowcaller: Kara stops what she is doing and looks up "Dirty?" She says in a confused voice as she have no idea what you are talking about "Uh, I guess it is a bit dirty in here…"
[20:54] Shadowcaller: "I guess I don't notice with the suit and all." She looks back at the opened control panel.
[20:54] Happy [8]: "Wouldn't it be easier to do repairs if you could see where everything was?"
[20:56] Shadowcaller: "Everything is exactly where it should be, don't try to move anything if you can. That just messes things up."
[20:56] Happy [8]: "Dirty grease getting into valuable instruments messes things up," Lucia says. She has carefully put her violins back in their cases after examining them.
[20:59] Shadowcaller: "I try to keep the insides clean, it's what matters after all. But I guess you might have a point." Kara hits the panel lightly "Blasted piece of junk…"
[21:00] Happy [8]: "I'm sorry… I shouldn't criticize. I'm in a bit of shock."
[21:02] Wolfbane: (Back, sorry, a friend wanted to talk to me)
[21:05] Shadowcaller: "Understandable, I know I would be in the same situation. Everything thrown upside down like that." She pauses and then turns to you "Say, you don't know if the ship had a Ert-34 model guide system would you? Any Ert, Lim or Sy model would fit thought, as long it's not a D model, they are too large."
[21:05] Happy [8]: "I don't know much about ship systems. Sorry."
[21:08] Shadowcaller: "I guess I will have to check it out myself then…" She steps up from the floor but as it looks like she is going to leave she stops "That… Dan character, he isn't going to be too much of a problem is he?"
[21:08] Happy [8]: "I never met him before today."
[21:08] Happy [8]: "But… I can probably handle him."
[21:09] Shadowcaller: "I find him suspicious… my father warned me about his type. But as long as he keeps himself from constantly insulting me, we shouldn't have a problem."
[21:10] Murska: (His type? :P)
[21:10] Shadowcaller: (Yes, his type.)
[21:10] Murska: (Computer people?)
[21:11] Shadowcaller: (Well that and his attitude, there is a certain type of class system she have for them;))
[21:12] Murska: (Heh. Well, he did wake up to her possibly having killed the entire crew and trying to rob him)
[21:13] Shadowcaller: (Killed the entire crew eh? Well that he even would have thought that haven't hit her yet.)
[21:13] Shadowcaller: (Technically, she did rob him thought.)
[21:15] Happy [8]: "You're going to take us to civilization, right?"
[21:16] Shadowcaller: "If I can get this guide system to work, yeah. Depending what you classify as civilization."
[21:18] Shadowcaller: "I just left the nest so to speak, so I don't really know much about this section."
[21:21] Happy [8]: "Where are you from? What system?"
[21:23] Shadowcaller: "System? I'm not really from any "system", I'm from… uh, a space station."
[21:24] Shadowcaller: "Umbra, have you heard of it?"
[21:25] Happy [8]: "No. But it has to be in a star system somewhere, right?"
[21:26] Shadowcaller: "We move around the systems. The station is just small enough to use the gates. So I can't really say I have a home system."
[21:29] Shadowcaller: "Why are you asking anyway?"
[21:31] Happy [8]: "It's just the normal question you ask when you meet someone. What do you do? What system are you from? Do you have a primary partner? What planets do you have birth priviledges on? That sort of thing."
[21:34] Shadowcaller: Kara shrugs "Really? Most outsiders I have met just ask what's up with the suit and if I want to trade. Really, most of you seem to consider us aliens or something."
[21:35] Murska: Dan seems to be heading back.
[21:35] Happy [8]: "I don't have anything to trade."
[21:36] Shadowcaller: "Anyway… I should get going, could you help me empty the ship of anything useful maybe?"
[21:38] Murska: Dan arrives, looking somewhat annoyed.
[21:39] Happy [8]: "I… guess so. Is that legal?"
[21:39] Shadowcaller: "Legal? It's a ghost ship, who is going to find out?"
[21:39] Shadowcaller: "It might even be legal for all I know."
[21:40] Murska: 'Technically it's my ghost ship.'
[21:41] Happy [8]: "Can you get it running?"
[21:41] Shadowcaller: "And technically, you would still be in statis right now…"
[21:42] Murska: 'Can't run that thing without a new drive. But what I'm somewhat more worried about is that why exactly haven't you told us no comm systems in the area are working?'
[21:43] Shadowcaller: "Simpel, I don't use a comm, too easy to track."
[21:43] Murska: 'So are you a pirate or a spy?'
[21:43] Happy [8]: (Oh… I told Murska he had records of you hailing the ship…)
[21:43] Happy [8]: (scrub that then?)
[21:43] Murska: (directed burst communication I assume)
[21:44] Shadowcaller: "I just don't have anyone to talk about mister."
[21:44] Shadowcaller: *talk to
[21:45] Murska: 'Yeah, whatever. Also, something's scrubbed the entire storage of anything after the gate was through.'
[21:46] Murska: He pauses for a moment. 'Single imperial laser shot, pretty darned powerful.'
[21:47] Shadowcaller: Kara dosen't seem to recognize it "I know it was powerful, the whole engine is gone, hull and all."

[21:48] Murska: 'A single shot shouldn't be capable of doing that.'
[21:48] Wolfbane: (I don't care)
[21:50] Shadowcaller: "Really? Well, I haven't seen many battle ships, not any working ones at least, mind you."
[21:50] Wolfbane: (Keep going for now as I go for dinner in a half hour)
[21:51] Happy [8]: "So, you need a guidance system in order to get us to the nearest civilized world?" Pause. "What /is/ the nearest civilized world?"
[21:52] Shadowcaller: "Why don't you ask him? He seems to know things all of sudden. I only know of Dima."
[21:53] Shadowcaller: She nods at Dan
[21:53] Murska: 'Look, something is stopping us from sending in any communications to anyone. Isn't that worrying to anyone else?'
[21:54] Happy [8]: "What, you mean something more than the ship being damaged?"
[21:54] Shadowcaller: "As long as I can get out of here, not really."
[21:56] Murska: 'There is nothing wrong with the comm systems of the ship. Thus, it's something else. And I can't help but to think the main reason to cut someone's comms is to stop him from calling for help.'
[21:57] Shadowcaller: "They wanted to prevent you two from calling for help? When you already was in statis? Or am I missing something?"
[21:58] Murska: 'When I say /all/ comms it also means all the comms of YOUR ship.'
[21:59] Shadowcaller: "So? Unless they can prevent my ship from leaving, I don't see any trouble with that."
[22:00] Shadowcaller: She looks back at the cookpit "Besides, I'm not even sure my comm /is/ working, long time sicne I used it."
[22:01] Murska: 'They have weapons that can kill a ship with one. shot. This ship can't have ended here by drift, it was towed. Anyone willing to go through that much trouble so that it isn't found is going to be pretty mad to see someone's found it. If I were that person, I'd have left at least an automated trap.'
[22:02] Happy [8]: "It doesn't make any sense. They took the crew, but left us? Why?"
[22:02] Shadowcaller: "I didn't notice anything, and if they were going to be so secret aobut it, why just not blow the ship up?"
[22:03] Shadowcaller: *about
[22:04] Murska: 'The ship was not attacked, but everyone left. The ship is, save the drive, pretty much intact. It's been towed. It's been boarded and either the crew was somehow completely subdued instantly or they were actually allies who just wanted the ship to disappear for some reason.'
[22:05] Murska: 'In neither case does it make sense to leave us in stasis.'
[22:06] Shadowcaller: "It dosen't, none of this dose. Sure it's not just your overactive imagination playing trick on you?"
[22:06] Shadowcaller: *tricks
[22:06] Murska: 'That the crew is gone? Well, you two might just be the figments of my imagination I guess.'
[22:07] Happy [8]: Lucia looks back and forth between the two. "Kara, I don't think Dan is making this up. /Something/ strange happened."
[22:08] Happy [8]: "And at least one member of crew survived, besides Dan."
[22:10] Shadowcaller: "Yeah, sure. Something strange happend, but that dosen't mean is some massive conspiracy theory. Maybe the engine crashed? Sabotage maybe?"
[22:10] Murska: 'It was shot.'
[22:10] Murska: 'I might not be a regular on this ship but I'm a military computer specialist and I can tell what happens when a ship gets shot.'
[22:12] Happy [8]: "I can't imagine Isaac being the type to be involved in a conspiracy. He seemed the 'duty and honor' type."
[22:13] Shadowcaller: "I think the truth might lay something in between full blow conspiracy and rational, it often is."
[22:13] Murska: 'Well, duty and honour means obeying the superiors of fleet command.'
[22:13] Murska: 'Usually the truth is rational.'
[22:13] Murska: 'But there is no rational explanation here.'
[22:14] Shadowcaller: "So you are saying I can't leave the ship then?"
[22:14] Shadowcaller: "Or 'we'."
[22:14] Murska: 'Sure you can, I just would be ready with whatever combat capabilities your ship has.'
[22:14] Murska: 'The facts are, this ship was attacked, boarded and the crew left either willingly or not but without a fight. Us two were left behind.'
[22:16] Shadowcaller: "WHich dosen't make any sense… but if you are asking what Anubis here can do in combat, I might have to dissapoint you. He's very fast, but he dosen't actually have any weapon systems."
[22:18] Murska: 'Joy.'
[22:18] Happy [8]: "Wh…what about our ship? Does it have weapons?"
[22:19] Shadowcaller: "…we could outrun them you know, thats what he's designed for."
[22:19] Murska: 'Can it outrun a missile?'
[22:20] Shadowcaller: "Wait, wait… you are saying that there are ships nearby who spends all their time watching this ghost ship?"
[22:20] Murska: 'Most likely no ships. What I find possible is that there are automated traps, though.'
[22:21] Murska: 'Well, since we should be dead already anyway let's take this as a temporary respite. Nothing to lose by trying to leave.'
[22:21] Happy [8]: "Isaac wouldn't…"
[22:21] Murska: 'Isaac wouldn't have left you here if he had had a choice, I'm sure.'
[22:21] Happy [8]: "You think he was a prisoner?"
[22:22] Murska: 'I have no idea what to think. The situation doesn't make sense.'
[22:23] Shadowcaller: "It dosen't, if they did have missiles or something. Why just not shoot Anubis when I entered?"
[22:23] Murska: 'Depends on the program. Or maybe there isn't anything. Or maybe they intend to use this ship again later.'
[22:25] Murska: 'Imagine a supposedly 'peaceful' ship suddenly showing up and suicidebombing a civilian target? Propaganda missions.'
[22:25] Shadowcaller: "Ugh… this is giving me a headace…"
[22:25] Happy [8]: "You said you wanted help with the salvage?"
[22:25] Shadowcaller: "Can't we try to focus on the simple things instead of speculate of what might or might not have happend?"
[22:26] Shadowcaller: "Yes, if you can show me where the guide system of this ship is located, we could leave much sooner. I suggest we take with us anything from this ship that might be worth something thought."
[22:27] Shadowcaller: Kara sigh and says witha sad voice "Thought fully looting this ship would take years I'm afraid…"
[22:27] Happy [8]: "I don't know what a guidance system even looks like. I can operate a power driver though."
[22:28] Murska: 'Considering it's condition it'd be easier to add a drive and salvage the whole ship. But fine, I'll help.'
[22:30] Shadowcaller: "The engine is the hearth of a ship, it it's gone and then I mean, completely removed from the ship along with the full engine section, it would be easier to just slavage the whole ship, trust me."
[22:30] Shadowcaller: *if
[22:31] Happy [8]: (it wasn't removed)
[22:31] Shadowcaller: (It wasn't? Well I imagine Kara haven't fully checked after she saw the first engine room.)
[22:32] Shadowcaller: (And by "removed" she means, blown into tiny pieces.)
[22:32] Murska: 'All you need is proper ballistic calculations and a large enough rocket.'
[22:33] Happy [8]: (the entity or entities that did this would not have removed the engine. They fired one shot that crippled the engine.)
[22:34] Shadowcaller: (Yeah, thats what she mean.)
[22:34] Happy [8]: (possibly could be repaired, but would need a specialist engineer, not a mechanic or a computer guy)
[22:35] Shadowcaller: (Well, the first room was well, badly damaged so she couldn't get acess to the rest of them. But she assumed they were in pretty much the same shape.)
[22:35] Wolfbane: (brb, dinner)
[22:36] Shadowcaller: "Yes, blowing things up is easy… reparing them is not."
[22:37] Shadowcaller: "But we should focus. Lucia, could you see if you can find anything more useful on the ship? I imagine I need to take "Dan" here to find the guide system."
[22:38] Happy [8]: "I can try. I'm not sure I really know what to look for though."
[22:39] Shadowcaller: "Anything lose, mechanics… parts… you have no idea how much it could be worth to the right trader."
[22:40] Shadowcaller: "If you can, try to open up some computers."
[22:40] Happy [8]: "… okay…" Thinking /I'll start with Isaac's cabin/
[22:43] Shadowcaller: "Thanks, I appreciate it."
[22:45] Murska: 'Let's go get that guide system then.'
[22:45] Shadowcaller: She turns to Dan, even throught the colored plastic of the suit, you can see it in her eyes that she dosen't look forward to this "Yes, let's…"
[22:45] Shadowcaller: "Lead the way."
[22:46] Murska: 'Follow me.' He heads into the ship.
[22:46] Murska: As he leads her past the terminal he was using, he mutters something.
[22:47] Shadowcaller: Kara just hope she dosen't need to talk very much with him. She follows him patiently.
[22:49] Murska: Doesn't take them long. 'There it is.'
[22:50] Shadowcaller: "You happend to know what model it is?"
[22:50] Murska: 'No.'
[22:51] Shadowcaller: "Let's just hope it's the right one then…" She drops her bag on the floor and starts to take out her equipment.
[22:52] Murska: He leans on the wall. 'Tell me if you need something.'
[22:53] Happy [8]: (brb)
[22:54] Shadowcaller: "Sure… you know anything about mechanics?"
[22:55] Murska: 'Some basics.'
[23:00] Shadowcaller: "Great… I'll tell…" She metodically starts to arrange the things, putting all her equipment at hands reach. VEntually she starts the blow torch… (we can skip this, unless Dan is going to say anything. She will have him hand her a few stuff. But thats it.)
[23:00] Murska: He helps without a word unless she says something.
[23:03] Shadowcaller: (Not much really, she just tells him what she wants.) Eventually she manages to pick a small plastic yellow box out of the electronics. "Phew… thats a model I haven't seen before, but it's a Sy, so it should fit."
[23:03] Murska: 'Great. All done?'
[23:05] Shadowcaller: "Yes, I didn't even need to remove anything else. Very convinient set up." Kara seems rather pleased with herself.
[23:05] Murska: 'Anything else we should do or back to the ship now?'
[23:06] Shadowcaller: "Back to the ship, unless you know something we should take with us?"
[23:07] Murska: He shrugs. 'Doubt it.'
[23:09] Shadowcaller: "Right… I bet we miss something very valuable now, but lets move on." She starts to gathered her equipment once again.
[23:11] Happy [8]: Lucia finds you, a few items gathered in a bag, but not much. "It's like this is a ship in a showroom somewhere that's never been lived in."
[23:12] Shadowcaller: "Yeah… a bit creepy really. Looks a bit of Umbra, if it had been empty of life."
[23:13] Murska: 'Best get away from it then.'
[23:13] Happy [8]: "Should we leave some kind of message, saying where we've gone?"
[23:14] Murska: 'They didn't tell us where they went. Let's return the favour.'
[23:14] Murska: 'Besides, you did just loot the ship.'
[23:14] Happy [8]: "I don't think it counts as looting if we're trying to survive."
[23:16] Murska: 'It does, and we don't even need most of the stuff to survive.'
[23:16] Shadowcaller: "Like someone would care…"
[23:16] Happy [8]: Lucia doesn't mention that she left a letter in Isaac's cabin.
[23:17] Shadowcaller: She hands the yellow box to Dan, "Here, don't drop it."
[23:19] Shadowcaller: Then she takes her equipment and heads for Anubis.
[23:19] Happy [8]: Lucia follows, subdued.
[23:20] Murska: l
[23:20] Murska: Dan doesn't drop it.
[23:21] Shadowcaller: (Great:P) Kara inserts the yellow box in Anubis, taking out a red one. Placing it in the scrap pile beside the first bed.
[23:23] Shadowcaller: "Okay… I'm not really sure where you are supposed to strap yourself into. It will be a bumpy ride, you aren't used to this guy after all." She knock the metal wall lightly.
[23:25] Murska: 'Bumpier than a drop pod?'
[23:25] Shadowcaller: "A drop pod? No idea, haven't been in one."
[23:25] Happy [8]: Lucia very carefully repacks her suitcase, making sure her violins are cushioned well.
[23:29] Shadowcaller: "There is…" Kara turns away, starting to dig throught some parts. "Ah, there." She lifts up a old chair, it looks like it have been directly taken from a drop pod. "If I could insert this in the cookpit…"
[23:31] Shadowcaller: (Also, should I end S.E.U. without a singel vote?;))
[23:31] Murska: (yes :P)
[23:31] Shadowcaller: (Done.)
[23:35] Happy [8]: (end here and do IF?)
[23:35] Shadowcaller: Kara goes to do that, which takes about twenty minutes.
[23:36] Shadowcaller: (Uh, sure. If you wish.)
