[21:32] Happy: So… 3e
[21:32] Shadowcaller: Indeed
[21:34] Shadowcaller: We are landing on that astroid…
[21:36] Happy: Going to do anything first? Like trying to communicate?
[21:38] Shadowcaller: Well Kara dosen't use a comm as they are easy to trace. It might be a trap, she would ask the others "So… we reached your rock, what now?"
[21:38] Murska: 'Hail them?'
[21:40] Shadowcaller: "Could set something off… but since we have gone this far… maybe one of you should talk?"
[21:40] Shadowcaller: "Since this guy appernetly are more intrested in you then me."
[21:41] Murska: Dan looks at Lucia. 'You want to?'
[21:41] Happy: "Isaac wouldn't draw us into a trap," she says.
[21:42] Murska: 'Might not have been his message. Anyway, I'd guess you want to be the one to talk to him.'
[21:43] Happy: "Yeah. I guess I'd better. I'll know if it's him at least."
[21:45] Shadowcaller: "Great…" Kara starts to feel underneath the ships panel until she seems to find something "…here, it's a very old model, but I wasn't planning to use it anyway…" She takes up a comm that looks like it might have been taken froma second world war movie, it even got a cord.
[21:46] Shadowcaller: *directly taken from a second world war movie
[21:46] Happy: "This is just voice?"
[21:49] Shadowcaller: "Yeah, but I got it connected to the screen…" she pushes a button and a small screen that at first just looked to be a panel on the control table lifts up. "If he responds, we will hear it."
[21:49] Shadowcaller: "He won't be able to see you thought."
[21:51] Happy: "Hello? Isaac? … Is anyone there?"
[21:53] Shadowcaller: "Hmm… maybe it's broken? It have been some time since I used after all."
[21:54] Murska: 'Or maybe nobody will respond.'
[21:54] Shadowcaller: "So what are we supposed to do then? Land on the darn thing?"
[21:55] Happy: "Greetings, Lucia. I'm glad you're safe." Nothing appears on the screen. It's just a voice connection.
[21:56] Happy: "Isaac? What's going on? What happened to the ship?"
[21:57] Happy: "If you'll come inside, we'll explain everything."
[21:58] Happy: "We?"
[21:59] Happy: "Lucy… I'm just going to have to ask you to trust me."
[22:03] Happy: "Land on the asteroid, suit up, and I'll come to meet you."
[22:04] Shadowcaller: Kara drums her fingers against the control panel as Lucia is speaking.
[22:04] Happy: Lucia looks at the others to see what they think.
[22:05] Murska: 'We're here, aren't we? No point in backing off now.'
[22:06] Shadowcaller: Kara nods "We might as well check it out."
[22:06] Happy: "Okay. We'll be there," Lucia says.
[22:08] Shadowcaller: Anubis gently starts moving towards the astroid.
[22:09] Shadowcaller: Eventually it lands quite smootly actually. "I'm better at landings then set offs."
[22:12] Shadowcaller: "So, let's take a look around on this stone of his."
[22:12] Shadowcaller: Kara stands up from her seat.
[22:12] Happy: They suit up I guess?
[22:13] Shadowcaller: Yeah
[22:13] Happy: It's a small asteroid. Just enough gravity for them to stick to its surface, but if they took a running start, they could probably leap into orbit around it.
[22:14] Murska: A floating mine? :P
[22:14] Shadowcaller: Small astroids have orbits?
[22:14] Murska: orbit = you float around it
[22:14] Murska: anything has an orbit
[22:15] Shadowcaller: well, I was more thinking off gravity really, if you would leap out from such a small astroid, you might fly out into space. But anyway, Kara keeps herself near the ship, letting the others do most of the searching.
[22:16] Happy: You have just left the ship when another pressure suited person approaches
[22:16] Happy: And gestures for them to follow
[22:16] Murska: They do.
[22:18] Shadowcaller: Kara shuts the ramp to Anubis, an unessecary safety measure really, but she still dose.
[22:18] Shadowcaller: Then she follows them, keeping herself in the backgroung
[22:18] Shadowcaller: *background.
[22:18] Happy: He leads them along the surface of the asteroid, until they reach an airlock door set into the ground.
[22:22] Shadowcaller: kara will enter it last.
[22:24] Murska: Dan just follows the guy right after him.
[22:26] Happy: After passing through the airlock, they find themselves in a large, well lit room, with seating and computer screens. There are some doors leading off of it.
[22:26] Happy: The pressure suited figure takes off his helmet.
[22:26] Happy: (Link: http://www.technovelgy.com/graphics/content09/Protector-Niven.jpg)http://www.technovelgy.com/graphics/content09/Protector-Niven.jpg
[22:28] Happy: (would that be a reaction of 'meh'? :P )
[22:28] Shadowcaller: (I guess Murska would have asnwered so^^)
[22:29] Shadowcaller: *answered
[22:30] Murska: Dan takes a step back instinctively.
[22:30] Happy: Lucia is yelling something, but the pressure suit is muffling it.
[22:31] Shadowcaller: He bumps into Kara that appears to be a in shock.
[22:31] Shadowcaller: She then steps back as well, trying to get something from her holster.
[22:32] Murska: 'What the…'
[22:32] Happy: The figure moves faster than she can react, taking her arm and stopping her. "I don't think you should draw a weapon," he says. It's Isaac's voice.
[22:33] Murska: Dan moves to get his back against a wall. 'So, explanations?'
[22:34] Shadowcaller: Her movements stop taking away her hand from the holster, she instead desperatly attempts to get the figures hand off her "Get off!"
[22:34] Happy: Lucia takes off her helmet. "What did you do to him?!"
[22:34] Happy: He tries to remove whatever was in her holster.
[22:35] Shadowcaller: Kara tries to push him away.
[22:35] Happy: Does he get it?
[22:37] Shadowcaller: Let's say he dose, it's a handgun, a heavily modified one.
[22:38] Happy: As soon as he does, he backs away from her.
[22:40] Happy: He looks at Lucia. "I am Isaac Pavel, former first officer of the Tarrus."
[22:41] Murska: 'So what are you now?'
[22:41] Shadowcaller: Kara seems quite taken by the encounter, she backs away against the wall closest the the door.
[22:50] Happy: "I'm still trying to decide that. It's a long story, but…" He steps closer to Lucia. "We met three years ago, when you were en route to a concert on Nix. You've arranged to travel on the Tarrus four times since then. You told me I reminded you of your childhood sweetheart, a boy who lived on your street. You wrote Pillow Whispers on our second trip together. You're the only one here who knows me well enough to confirm who I am. As me anything."
[22:53] Happy: "I don't understand."
[22:54] Shadowcaller: Kara dosen't say anything, she looks at Isaac and then glances at Dan.
[22:54] Murska: He glances at her and shrugs.
[22:54] Happy: He sighs. "The simplest explanation is that it's an alien plague. That's not exactly correct, but it will do for now. I caught an alien plague and it did this to me. Look at my eyes, Lucy. They're the same."
[22:56] Murska: 'So what happened to the ship? You the only one?'
[22:59] Happy: "They were evacuated. I was the only one who was infected."
[23:00] Happy: "Come, let us sit down, make ourselves comfortable. I'm not going to harm you. I'm not even sure I'm capable of it if I wanted to."
[23:01] Murska: 'Wait. If the ship was taken out before it got to the planet and everyone else evacuated, how /did/ you get infected?'
[23:02] Happy: "Nice catch. I was deliberately infected."
[23:03] Happy: "You can remove your helmet. You are too young to be affected by it."
[23:03] Shadowcaller: "…so it is infectious?"
[23:03] Murska: 'By whom?'
[23:08] Happy: "You've heard of General Cortez?"
[23:08] Murska: 'Yes.'
[23:09] Happy: "She's trying to stop the plague from spreading. She needed help. So she chose me."
[23:10] Shadowcaller: "I- so just how were you infected? What dose age have to do with it?"
[23:11] Murska: 'What about you start from the beginning and tell us what this plague is.'
[23:19] Happy: "Well, bear with me. There exists a race of bipeds that live near the edge of the globe of close-packed suns at the core of the galaxy…

"The most important thing about them is that they live in three stages of maturity. There is childhood, which is self-explanatory. There is the breeder stage, a biped just short of intelligence, whose purpose is to create more children. And there is the protector.

"At around age forty-two, our time, the breeder stage gets the urge to eat the root of a certain bush. Up to then he stayed away from it, because its smell was repugnant to him. Suddenly it smells delicious. The bush grows all over the planet; there's no real chance that the root won't be available to any breeder who lives long enough to want it.

"The root initiates certain changes, both physiological and emotional.
[23:21] Happy: "When a breeder eats the root, these changes take place. His or her gonads and obvious sexual characteristics disappear. His skull softens and his brain begins to grow, until it is comfortably larger and more complex than yours, gentlemen. The skull then hardens and develops a bony crest. The teeth fall out, whatever teeth are left; the gums and lips grow together and form a hard, almost flat beak. My face is too flat; it works better with Homo habilis. All hair disappears. Some joints swell enormously, to supply much greater leverage to the muscle. The moment arm increases, you follow? The skin hardens and wrinkles to form a kind of armor. Fingernails become claws, retractile, so that a protector's fingertips are actually more sensitive than before, and better toolmakers. A simple two-chamber heart forms where the two veins from the legs, whatever the hell they're called, join to approach the heart. Notice that my skin is thicker there? Well, there are less dramatic changes, but they all contribute to make the protector a powerful, intelligent fighting machine."
[23:24] Happy: "But more important than the physical changes are the emotional ones. A Protector loses all urges except for the desire to protect his or her bloodline. One of the reasons I was chosen is that I don't have children."
[23:26] Happy: "A few months ago, a Protector ship crashed on Dima. It was carrying the Tree of Life root, and of the people who investigated the crash site, three of them were of the age to be affected. Their crewmates must have thought they were insane when they started eating the alien's food."
[23:28] Shadowcaller: (we are still here¨^)
[23:28] Murska: (just cowed into submission by the wall of text)
[23:28] Happy: (heh… c/p'd from a novel, I'm afraid… but it's original stuff now)
[23:28] Shadowcaller: (Yeah, I suspected that.)
[23:30] Happy: "The so-called 'plague' spread from there. If it were an ordinary plague that killed or weakened those who were affected, then it wouldn't be as dangerous. Instead, it's leaving behind super intelligent, amoral men and women who are ready to fight for any kind of advantage for their children. Dima is a war zone. And if we don't act quickly, it could spread out of this system."
[23:32] Murska: 'So how much of this root is there?'
[23:32] Shadowcaller: "…what age exactly?"
[23:32] Shadowcaller: "Is it the same for humans I mean?"
[23:33] Happy: "I'll let you in on a secret. The aliens call themselves Pak. But we call them homo habilus."
[23:34] Shadowcaller: "…wait, they are… related?"
[23:35] Happy: "General Cortez thinks, and the evidence suggests, that humans are descended from them."
[23:35] Murska: 'Wait. How exactly? Panspermia? Progenitors?'
[23:38] Happy: "This is just a theory, but we think that they sent out a colony ship millions of years ago that ended up on Earth. When they got there, there was a problem with the Tree of Life root. Their breeders never advanced to the Protector stage. When the first generation of their protectors died off, they were left to fend for themselves."
[23:40] Murska: 'Well that sure throws out quite a bit of evolutionary theories.' Oo
[23:40] Shadowcaller: "No, that can't be…"
[23:41] Murska: 'Anyway, about my earlier question. How much of the root is there on Dima?'
[23:41] Shadowcaller: "I'm not sure I can belive that. There must be some other explanation."
[23:41] Happy: "We don't know."
[23:42] Happy: "They may have found a way to grow it by now. We have."
[23:42] Murska: 'I assume there's a quarantine and a blockage up already.'
[23:44] Happy: "If we can get it to hold. Marek doesn't buy the plague story."
[23:44] Shadowcaller: "So why were those two left on the ship?"
[23:45] Shadowcaller: "…and can I have my gun back now by the way?"
[23:45] Happy: "Lucia, because she is the one who knows me enough to identify me. And Dan… I imagine he has a pretty good idea by now."
[23:47] Shadowcaller: "But if I hadn't come along, they would still have been in statis."
[23:47] Murska: 'So, a ship crashed at Dima. How does a ship crash into a planet anyway? How do their ships travel?'
[23:49] Happy: "Ramjets. Slower than light. They don't have gates. Yet. That's our one advantage."
[23:49] Happy: (and I think I needs bedtime)
[23:49] Shadowcaller: (Hm, okay.)
[23:49] Shadowcaller: (Night.)
[23:49] Murska: (night)
[23:49] Murska: 'So we nuke the planet and that's that.
[23:53] Happy: "46 million people? You're ready to sacrifice them?"
[23:53] Shadowcaller: "What other options do we have?"
[23:53] Murska: 'Hey, it's the army. They do that sort of shit every day.'
[23:54] Shadowcaller: "…yeah, killing people, great."
[23:54] Murska: 'So what's your purpose? Study?'
[23:55] Happy: "Try and find a way to save the situation /and/ the planet. And if not… Then we slow the spread as much as we can."
[23:57] Happy: He sets Kara's gun down on the table. "I need to go and eat. You can wander freely in the base, or return to your ship. I hope to speak to you again."
[23:57] Shadowcaller: She takes it quickly and puts it back in her holster.
[23:59] Murska: 'Well, the comms are blocked so I assume there's at least some kind of a blockade. Meaning we're unlikely to get out of the system.'
[23:59] Happy: "Lucy?" He holds his hand out to her. She hesitates a moment, and then takes it and leaves with him.
[23:59] Happy: (leaving you two to talk :P )
[23:59] Shadowcaller: (Indeed…)
[00:01] Shadowcaller: Kara sits down by the table, looking around in the base, thankful she got her suit.
[00:03] Murska: 'So what do ya think?'
[00:03] Shadowcaller: "…about this?"
[00:03] Murska: 'What else? The geothermal vents on Yakos?'
[00:04] Shadowcaller: She rolls her eyes (not that he can see that) "I think it's all pretty sick. All of it."
[00:05] Murska: He shrugs. 'Most sensible explanation is that it's all complete bullshit. But whatever, wait and see.'
[00:05] Shadowcaller: "But there is some kind of blockage right? At least with the comms."
[00:06] Murska: 'Some kind, yes. So something's wrong, and the guy certainly looks weird.'
[00:06] Shadowcaller: "To put it lightly…"
[00:06] Murska: 'But it's nothing humans haven't managed themselves before.'
[00:07] Shadowcaller: "It's not the end of the world. But if you think it's all fake, is there any point in disscussiong it?"
[00:08] Murska: 'Of course. Whatever's happening we're stuck in the middle of it.'
[00:08] Shadowcaller: *disscussing
[00:10] Shadowcaller: "So, should we really leave those two alone?"
[00:10] Murska: *discussing
[00:10] Murska: 'Go check on them if you want to. If he wants us dead there are easier ways.'
[00:12] Shadowcaller: "Thats not what I mean…" Kara shakes her head "I doubt he wants us dead, but if he really was human…" She shudders "It's just so… wrong."
[00:12] Murska: 'I've seen humans less human.'
[00:12] Shadowcaller: "Mentally you mean?"
[00:13] Murska: 'That too.'
[00:14] Shadowcaller: "…really? What had happend to them?"
[00:14] Murska: 'Other humans.'
[00:15] Shadowcaller: "Experiments? Diseases?"
[00:15] Murska: 'Whatever. So, what should we do?'
[00:16] Shadowcaller: (How dose the interior look like anyway?)
[00:18] Shadowcaller: (Eh… nevermind.)
[00:19] Happy: (basic. It looks like a ship.)
[00:20] Shadowcaller: "While we wait for him to eat? I have no idea… I'm still disturbed by the existance of such a disease and the fact that you seem to have seen worse."
[00:22] Happy: (It's definitely older than a few months though)
[00:24] Shadowcaller: "The more I hear about the outside world, the less I like it."
[00:28] Murska: 'Great. So, my vote goes towards finding out more while we're stuck here.'
[00:30] Shadowcaller: "You can do whatever you like Dan, I'm not stopping you."
[00:31] Murska: 'You got the ship.'
[00:32] Shadowcaller: "Your not going to use your computers to find it are you?"
[00:33] Murska: 'Find what?'
[00:33] Shadowcaller: "More information, I thought that was what you suggested?"
[00:34] Murska: 'I doubt I can find much. Best ask the one who supposedly knows.'
[00:34] Shadowcaller: "Who is eating right now."
[00:35] Murska: 'Yup.'
[00:36] Shadowcaller: "Well, yeah of course we are going to ask him more." Kara rolls her eyes again, annoyed. "I thought you meant what we are going to do *now*"
[00:38] Murska: 'Well apparently you want to sit there shocked at the horrid facts of life. A fine plan.'
[00:38] Shadowcaller: "Yeah, sorry for having emotions."
[00:39] Murska: 'Ah, no problem. Just try to keep them to a minimum.'
[00:40] Shadowcaller: "Your…" She trails off "Maybe you should go and do something logical instead, clearly this dissucssion is very ineffective for a man such as yourself."
[00:42] Murska: 'Well like me actually bothering to ask /you/ should've implied, I have no idea whatsoever on what to do.'
[00:45] Shadowcaller: "A thanks so much for that. But clearly I'm way too emotional to come up with anything so I will leave the computer mind here to think of that himself."
[00:45] Shadowcaller: She turns away.
[00:49] Murska: Dan rolls his eyes and mutters something, then leans into the wall and starts typing.
[00:49] Shadowcaller: (What did he mutter?)
[00:50] Murska: (Heheh.)
[00:51] Shadowcaller: (Aww…)
[00:52] Murska: (Nothing much, really.)
[00:53] Shadowcaller: (Dose it matter how much it was?)
[00:53] Shadowcaller: (You don't often mutter long meanings
)
[00:54] Murska: (Nothing much in the sense of nothing that most people would consider insulting)
[00:55] Shadowcaller: (Right…)
[00:55] Shadowcaller: (So what was it then?)
[00:55] Shadowcaller: (If it wasn't insulting I mean.)
[00:56] Murska: (What a mystery, to be left unsolved for now.)
[00:56] Shadowcaller: (Yeah, most epic mystery in the game:P)
[00:57] Shadowcaller: Kara stands up and walk around a bit around the ship, keeping her hand at the holster.
[01:00] Shadowcaller: She eventually returns and sit down at the same chair she left.
[01:01] Murska: 'Find anything?'
[01:01] Shadowcaller: "I wasn't looking for anything. So no, I didn't."
[01:02] Happy: gnight
[01:02] Murska: *hugs Happy*
[01:02] Murska: bye
[01:02] Happy: bai
[01:02] Shadowcaller: (Night.)
[01:02] Happy: (do i need to stay logged on for the wiki?)
[01:02] Murska: (we could end, I'm tired aswell)
[01:02] Shadowcaller: (I think Murska is going to sleep.)

Session Start (moc.evil|eltrutyppah-anit#moc.evil|eltrutyppah-anit:Group Conversation 32662): Sun Nov 29 20:04:43 2009
[20:04] Shadowcaller: Hi
[20:06] Happy: hi
[20:06] Happy: can't believe it takes my puter so long to reboot
[20:06] Shadowcaller: Eh, it happends
[20:10] Shadowcaller: So err… should we do something?
[20:11] Happy: Yes.
[20:11] Happy: After a while, Lucia returns to you.
[20:12] Shadowcaller: Kara is still sitting in the chair, but as Lucia enters, she looks up "What did he say?"
[20:13] Happy: It's clear from her face that she's been crying.
[20:13] Happy: "It's really him."
[20:14] Murska: 'I see.'
[20:14] Shadowcaller: "Oh you poor thing…" Kara goes up to her.
[20:15] Shadowcaller: "Is.. there anything I can do?"
[20:16] Murska: Dan turns back to his computer with a little smirk.
[20:16] Happy: "I don't know. I just want to start over… wake up back on the ship and find out this never happened.
[20:16] Murska: (( R) estart?)
[20:17] Shadowcaller: (:P)
[20:18] Shadowcaller: "…yeah, if he was your boyfriend… I understand. No wait, I don't."
[20:19] Shadowcaller: "Why did he… become infected?"
[20:21] Happy: "General Cortez," she says in a venomous voice. "She /chose/ him. Wanted another superhuman to help her fight the others."
[20:22] Murska: 'Why exactly is he here then?'
[20:25] Happy: "Building weapons."
[20:25] Shadowcaller: "This dosen't really look like a weapon factory…"
[20:27] Murska: 'Wait. How superintelligent exactly? Billions of credits, the best scientists of all worlds and the strongest supercomputers are all exclusively on military development duty.'
[20:28] Shadowcaller: "I don't get why they need more advanced weapons, can't the scientists be used for something more important?"
[20:32] Murska: 'There's a war going on if you haven't noticed.'
[20:32] Murska: '
[20:32] Murska: 'Killing the other bastards is always the most important thing.'
[20:32] Shadowcaller: "Yeah, hitting others with the biggest club…"
[20:33] Shadowcaller: "What war by the way?"
[20:34] Murska: 'What war? The War?'
[20:34] Happy: "He wants to design a weapon that will kill protectors and spare breeders. Or one that can attack the virus itself."
[20:34] Shadowcaller: "The War?"
[20:35] Murska: 'Where have you been living? The one we've been fighting for the past what, hundred years? More?'
[20:35] Shadowcaller: "Who is "we"?"
[20:35] Murska: 'Human beings.' He rolls his eyes.
[20:36] Shadowcaller: "I wasn't aware there was some gigantic space war going on."
[20:37] Murska: 'Maybe because the last major conflict happened twenty-four years ago.' He turns back to his computer.
[20:39] Shadowcaller: "Well, don't include me to "human beings" then, I'm not figthing some war and this disease sounds more serious right now."
[20:40] Murska: 'Wasn't gonna. Though my definition of human being is loose, it's not limitless.'
[20:40] Happy: "Isaac is trying to… you know how he said that protectors feel an intense need to protect their bloodline?"
[20:41] Shadowcaller: "Yes?"
[20:42] Happy: "He feels that for… humanity. He thinks after they stop the plague, that… he can just stop the war too."
[20:43] Murska: 'Well good luck with /that/.'
[20:43] Happy: "He thinks it will take a few hundred years." Lucia pulls her knees up and hugs them, making her float off the chair for a second before slowly drifting back down.
[20:44] Shadowcaller: Kara sits back in hers "So he lives longer?"
[20:44] Murska: 'Immortality, perfect morality and super-intelligence? What a plague.'
[20:46] Happy: "He's not real though. It's not…" she swallows hard. "It's him, but it's not him. He's changed."
[20:46] Shadowcaller: "Perfect mortality? Your disgusting."
[20:47] Murska: (I broke Winth)
[20:47] Murska: 'Well obviously.'
[20:47] Shadowcaller: (Winth?)
[20:47] Murska: (Winth.)
[20:47] Shadowcaller: (…whats that?)
[20:47] Murska: (Porean.)
[20:48] Shadowcaller: (I don't know what that is either.)
[20:48] Murska: (Bad luck.)
[20:48] Shadowcaller: (yeah, that you won't explain.)
[20:48] Murska: (that you're so curious ^^)
[20:48] Shadowcaller: (*rolls eyes*)
[20:49] Shadowcaller: "Whatever… is there anything I can do?"
[20:57] Murska: 'Coffee would be nice.
[20:58] Happy: "You didn't find the kitchen? It's through there."
[20:58] Shadowcaller: Kara glares at him "You can make your own coffe." She says witha cold voice.
[20:58] Shadowcaller: *with a
[20:59] Murska: He doesn't look up. 'Don't ask then.'
[20:59] Shadowcaller: Kara walks away to the kitchen mumbeling something unhearable.
[21:07] Shadowcaller: *pokes*
[21:08] Happy: the kitchen seems to be well stocked, though most of the food is freeze dried
[21:10] Shadowcaller: Kara isn't looking for something to eat, she just wants to get away.
[21:10] Shadowcaller: Is there a table and chair inside the room?
[21:10] Shadowcaller: *kitchen
[21:11] Happy: yes, with straps to hold you down against the low gravity, as well as loops to stick your feet through
[21:12] Shadowcaller: SHe leans against the wall then. What are the others doing?
[21:13] Murska: (showering)
[21:23] Shadowcaller: ..
[21:24] Happy: Lucia goes back to the ship, and returns with her violin.
[21:24] Shadowcaller: (I think she need to have Kara's help to do that.)
[21:25] Happy: Then she goes to find Kara.
[21:25] Happy: "I need to go to the ship."
[21:25] Shadowcaller: "Why?"
[21:26] Happy: "I need my violin."
[21:26] Shadowcaller: "…sorry, I'm not in the best mood right now."
[21:26] Happy: She looks on the verge of breaking down.
[21:26] Shadowcaller: "Of course… eh, let's get your violin."
[21:27] Shadowcaller: Kara leaves the kitchen, making sure Lucia is follwing her.
[21:29] Shadowcaller: And they go back to the ship I guess, kara dosen't even look at Dan.
[21:29] Happy: Lucia does. "Do you want anything from the ship?"
[21:35] Shadowcaller: …
[21:41] Shadowcaller: ..
[21:48] Murska: 'Nah.'
[21:49] Happy: They go then.
[21:49] Happy: Lucia only wants her violin.
[21:50] Shadowcaller: Kara opens up the ramp and they go inside and get the violin then, as she is coming back with it Kara speaks up "Can you get along with… him?"
[21:50] Happy: "Isaac?"
[21:51] Shadowcaller: "Dan, Isaac seems to be okay really…"
[21:51] Happy: "Dan is okay, I guess."
[21:52] Shadowcaller: "Okay? He's stone cold, no one will ever miss him once he's gone."
[21:53] Happy: "What? What do you mean, once he's gone?"
[21:55] Shadowcaller: "Well, when he dies?"
[21:55] Happy: "I'm sure he has friends. Family. Everyone does."
[21:56] Shadowcaller: "He said he hadn't met them in years, and the only reason he have friends I bet is since he need human contact to not go insane. He would backstab them all just to save himself."
[21:57] Happy: "I doubt that. It's just a facade he's putting on."
[21:58] Shadowcaller: "Why would anyone want to pretend to be a complete jerk?"
[22:07] Happy: "To keep people from getting close."
[22:08] Shadowcaller: "…I don't get it. Well, it sure dose it's trick if thats what he wants."
[22:09] Shadowcaller: "Let's just go back, we need to get this situation over with."
[22:09] Shadowcaller: "Eh, with Isaac and all." She adds a bit awkwardly.
[22:13] Shadowcaller: (And I guess they do? Seems like everyone is doing something else at the moment >.>)
[22:16] Shadowcaller: (Well, I guess I will get something to eat then….)
[22:18] Happy: (sorry, they can't get back until the conversation with Isaac and Dan has finished >.> )
[22:19] Murska: (Or they can interrupt it.)
[22:19] Happy: (hasn't been enough time yet)
[22:22] Murska: (Depends on when Isaac showed up)
[22:24] Shadowcaller: (back.)
[22:24] Shadowcaller: (And do tell me if you have other conversations.)
[22:38] Shadowcaller: ,,,
[22:38] Happy: And you return, to find Isaac and Dan talking
[22:39] Happy: Isaac is no longer in his pressure suit, and he's wearing nothing but a vest with lots of pockets
[22:39] Murska: 'Why don't we talk this over the wire?'
[22:41] Happy: "Of course we would remain here to try and save Dima. But it woudl at least protect the rest of humanity."
[22:41] Murska: 'Oh hell no, I'm not staying.'
[22:42] Shadowcaller: Kara sits down on the chair she was sitting on.
[22:44] Murska: 'Anyway, destroying is a bit of an end-all solution. Close it down and blow it up if it seems they'll be able to breach it?'
[22:44] Happy: "The gate has to be sealed or destroyed. There are no other acceptable choices."
[22:45] Murska: 'It's gonna take, lemme count. What, eighty-four years for the fastest STL and some more to bring the gate back online? If they'd even send it right away without knowing if we'd succeeded. Double that plus what it takes for us if we need to send a message.'
[22:45] Shadowcaller: (I repeat myself a lot >.>) "Destroying the gate?… are you serious?"
[22:46] Murska: 'So if you're going to blow up the gate then there's no point in me staying here anyway.'
[22:48] Happy: "Then get through to Marek and convince them to quarantine this system."
[22:50] Murska: He glances at the other two. 'Why me? I'm an internal agent, Cortez has authority to contact the ones who deal with Marek.'
[22:51] Shadowcaller: Kara sigh and leans back in her chair.
[22:53] Happy: (because you're the PC, of course)
[22:54] Shadowcaller: (Clearly.)
[22:58] Happy: "Cortez can't leave the system. You can."
[22:58] Murska: He sighs. 'Unless I fail to comply, right? What's with the questioning, you could just give me orders.'
[23:00] Happy: "Dammit, Dan. You weren't on the Tarrus long, but I know you're smarter than this. I'm not looking for conscripts here."
[23:00] Murska: 'Well I'm no volunteer.'
[23:01] Shadowcaller: "No suprises there…" Kara comments, mostly to herself (the others is likely not to hear her.)
[23:01] Murska: 'I don't even know why you need /me/ but if it's something I gotta do to get out then fine, I'll relay a message or whatever.'
[23:04] Happy: "I'm not taking prisoners either. If you want to leave, you leave. You aren't carrying the virus. If I could evacuate the entire system of breeders, I would."
[23:05] Murska: 'So what do you want? If it's to send a message to Marek, Cortez probably did that already. If it's something else, she has access to diplomats and actual agents.'
[23:06] Happy: "Sending a message isn't enough. I need that message to be believed and acted upon. Dammit, what if this spreads to the Cultists? Can you imagine the bloody Jihad that would follow?"
[23:08] Murska: 'So get Eden ships to set up at the gate and blow up anything that attempts to go out. Marek isn't going to heat the war just because they can't trade with some random planet, are they? Or is there something else going on here?'
[23:10] Happy: "A random planet where there was an alien ship, and suddenly it's offline."
[23:15] Murska: 'They'd probably guess we got some kind of a contact here or are cooking up weaponry. Quarantine is what everyone always uses to block off anything. Then once it became apparent that ANYTHING going through was shot down and there was nothing whatsoever coming out of the system they'd either try to blow up the gate, which is what you wanted in the first place, or set up quite a watch right outside'
[23:25] Shadowcaller: (*poke*)
[23:26] Murska: (I have to go soon)
[23:26] Murska: (soon as in about three hours ago)
[23:26] Shadowcaller: (Hehe, yeah, it's starting to get late.)
[23:26] Shadowcaller: ("starting" is of course a understatement.)
[23:27] Happy: (stop here then?)
[23:27] Murska: (I guess)
[23:27] Shadowcaller: (If you like.)
[23:27] Murska: (Or you two can discuss the shocking(? :P) revelation)
[23:28] Shadowcaller: (Which would be?)
[23:29] Murska: (That Dan isn't actually a computer technician? ;))
[23:29] Shadowcaller: (pffh, kara dosen't really care what he is.)
[23:30] Shadowcaller: (She just met him, he might as well be a clown for all she knows.)
[23:32] Murska: (anyway, bye)
[23:32] Shadowcaller: (Bye.)
[23:33] Shadowcaller: (And night.)
